Hang Gliding
The hang glider is an unmotorized aircraft, launched by foot. The pilot often uses their body weight to direct the aircraft, but modern designs can incorporate flight control systems. Hang gliding is popular in the Northern French Alps.

Hot Air Ballooning
The first recorded hot air balloon flight was in Annonay, France in 1783. Whilst soaring over France you experience exceptional tranquility (whilst the burner is silent) and a bird's-eye view not to be matched. There are a number of takeoff sites around France, so you are likely to find a flight over your favourite landscapes.

Microlighting
A microlight (or ultralight) is a single/dual seated lightweight, slow-flying, aircraft. As the aircraft is subject to less stringent licensing regulations they are popular amongst amateur pilots.

Paragliding Holidays
A paraglider is an aircraft that fits in a rucksack. When in flight the pilot is suspended in a harness below a high performance glider. This sport was born in France in the 1970s and has been popular ever since. Some of the best views can be found by launching off the Puy-de-Dôme, in South-Central France. Ensure you book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Skydiving Holidays
As a beginner there are a number of different ways to learn the art of skydiving these are: tandem skydiving, static line, Instructor Assisted Deployment (IAD) and accelerated freefall. The experience of freefalling from a plane at 10,000 - 12,000ft is one you won't forget! To begin a skydiving holiday you must find a suitable dropzone (DZ), of which there are a large number in France.
