Alsace offers an incredible variety of landscapes; from plains to mountain ranges. It's a great place for cycle touring, mountain biking, hiking and horse riding, with almost 200km of cycle trails and more than 17,000km of Club Vosgien marked trails. There are excellent skiing opportunities in the undulating slopes of the Vosges range and its 11 ski resorts.
Alsace frequently enjoys pleasant Indian summers, with sunshine levels similar to that of southern France and temperatures of 30 to 35°C. The charm of the Alsatian vineyards and forests are definitely worth seeing in the height of summer. In the winter it is cold and dry with abundant snowfall, ideal for skiers.
