Franche Comte is made up of hidden valleys, uncountable rivers and waterfalls, mountains and extensive forests. The region lies beneath the mountains of the Jura, a geological build up to the Alps and hosts beautiful panoramas. It also has lots of cultural and historical landmarks including the Citadel of Besançon, The Royal Salt works of Arc-et-Senans, The Château de Joux and The Belfort Lion designed by the creator of the Statue of Liberty.
