Limousin is the old-fashioned and quintessential image of rural France. It is popular with tourists looking for an ‘off the beaten track’ style of holiday and boasts beautiful rolling hills and rivers. The region has some of the best beef varieties in the world, noticeable by their chestnut-red colour and you’ll see many whilst visiting. With rivers such as the Dordogne, Vienne, Creuse and Cher flowing through Limousin this part of France is excellent for fishing too.
Limoges, the region’s main city, is world-renowned for its porcelain and there is a National museum devoted to its history located there. For those with a keen interest in horses, then the Arnac-Pompadour is worth visiting, famous for its Pompadour National Anglo-Arab Stud.
