Maison Poirier is a charming three bedroomed 18th century Charentais cottage, set in an acre of grounds amongst the Cognac vineyards. Guests can enjoy the spacious accomodation, shared swimming pool, games room, private courtyard, beautiful stone summerhouse and gardens.

The cottage comfortably sleeps 8 in it’s 3 spacious bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin on the ground floor and 1 double and twin combined on the first floor). There is a large well equipped kitchen/dining room (which opens to the courtyard with French doors) and a spacious lounge for relaxing. There is a shower room and wc on the ground floor (ideal for those who find stairs a problem) and a further en-suite shower room on the first floor.
Outside there is a secluded courtyard with a dining area, bbq facilities and covered parking.
Guests can also enjoy the mature gardens, beautiful stone summerhouse, or simply sunbathe around the shared pool and relax with a glass of wine.

Internal facilities
Lounge - Satellite TV and video, CD player, DVD player.
Kitchen - Oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, ironing facilities.
The cottage also benefits from central heating and 2 wood-burning stoves for out of season bookings.
There are also videos, books and games provided.
For families with babies we can offer high chairs, buggy, stair-gates, cots, fireguard, baby bath, potty, etc.
All bed linen is supplied and pool towels are available on request.

Out of courtesy, we ask guests to refrain from smoking within the cottage.

External facilities
An enclosed 10m x 5m swimming pool (with sunbeds, parasols and inflatable toys).
Stone Summerhouse overlooking the pool for shaded dining in the day and evening bbq’s (with CD player, fridge, bbq, dining tables, chairs and sofas).
Variety of bikes, helmets and baby seats.
Games room with pool table, table tennis, table football and darts.
Games pitch for badminton, football, croquet and boules.
Children's facilities include - wooden playhouse, sandpit, ride on toys and garden games.

Locally, there are numerous good restaurants to try and superb local markets offering a wide range of fresh seafood, cheeses and farm produce. The village of Migron has a village store, butchers and bakery where you can buy your fresh morning croissants.
The Charente-Maritime with it’s exhilarating micro-climate offers much interest. You can explore historic market towns such as Saintes, Poitiers and Angouleme with their beautiful sandstone facades, visit the revered brandy houses of Remy Martin, Martell and Courvoisier in Cognac or head for the coastline with it’s many sun-drenched sandy beaches and islands.
For the children there are zoos, aquariums, mini train rides, boat trips to the Islands of Ré, Aix and Oleron and the Futuroscope adventure park near Poitiers.
For those a little more energetic, guests can chose from a selection of bikes and explore the pretty local villages and pineau vineyards (not forgetting to try a few tipples along the way).
Alternatively there is canoeing and fishing, along the Charente River, local golf courses, and water sports along the coastline

Additional pricing information

There is an additional £100 per week payable for 7 or 8 sharing.
Periods of less than a week are pro-rata.
A discount of 25% applies for couples except in June, July and August.
Available for long-term winter lets, price on application.
